At Search and Rescue camp, trainees will learn everything they need to know to survive in the wild! Work with team mates to build a fire with your bare hands, construct a shelter, and learn basic wilderness first aid. Develop self defense skills to protect your camp from raiders. Increase your agility and coordination with fun, challenging obstacle courses. Learn about the outdoors and the amazing environment surrounding Yakima!
This camp is perfect for the family Bear Grylls! Whether your child is a nature nut, fond of arts and crafts, or just cant stop climbing trees, the YSK Search and Rescue Camp will be the perfect place for them to express themselves this summer!

Kids will learn about respect, discipline, and supporting each other and their community through fun, inspiring activities.

At YSK Superhero School, students will harness their inner power to be the superhero they’ve always hoped to become! By developing super strength, amazing agility, and intense intellect, our heroes will transform into their mighty alter-egos. In combat training, cadets will learn the skills they need to defeat any villain who steps in their path, while perfecting the discipline needed to control their incredible power. Of course any hero would be incomplete without a costume, so don’t worry, we’ll design our own incredible uniforms too!
This camp is perfect for the family super-kid! Fun, challenging, and full of imagination, YSK Superhero School is the place to be this summer!

“In a Galaxy Far, Far Away…” Jedi Knights protected the balance of the force in the galaxy. But they disappeared long ago… Until now!
Welcome to the YSK Jedi Academy, where young apprentices train in the ways of the force in the hope of one day becoming Jedi Knights themselves! Apprentices will learn to deflect laser (nerf) blasts with their very own lightsaber, increase their agility, defend themselves against their mortal enemies, the Sith, and become wise in the use of their own inner power.
These half day lessons are perfect for the restless Star Wars lover in your household. Focused on fun, friendship, and self defense, YSK Jedi Academy is the place to be this summer!

Join us for Taichi, meditation, and gentle walking through the spring blossoms of Cowiche Canyon. Beginners are more than welcome, as we will be practicing easy to learn movements and meditations anyone can benefit from!
Please dress for early morning, spring weather, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Feel free to bring a water bottle and snack if desired.

We are excited to invite you to the 2019 Morris Mack Open! This tournament is one of the longest running in the Pacific Northwest, and will feature exciting competition from around the region. Competitors from all styles of martial arts are welcome to participate! With a focus on friendship and camaraderie, the Morris Mack Open has brought martial artists together for more than four decades. Forms, sparring, weapons, team, and entertainment events provide opportunities for all ages and abilities to compete!
On Friday, March 8th, we will be hosting Kobudo World Champion Abby Knapp for two amazing kata seminars. These seminars will deal with the traditional Okinawan weapon, the eaku (oar). The first seminar (5:00-6:30pm) will be focused on Ten-No-Kata, an introductory form perfect for practicing the fundamental movements of this weapon. Afterwards, Abby will share with us the more advanced form Futen-No-Kata (7-8:30pm), which displays dynamic and exciting movements. Please contact the Yakima School of Karate (509-457-5462) if you are interested in ordering an oar prior to the event. $30 for one seminar, $50 for both. We will sea you there!

Learn from one of world’s premier instructors! Kyoshi Tomohiro Arashiro is the Pan American Chief Instructor of Ryuei Ryu Karate. Growing up in Sumuide, Okinawa, Kyoshi Arashiro trained directly under Soke Kenko Nakaima, and was chosen to represent Ryuei Ryu in the United States. We are excited to bring two seminars with Arashiro Sensei to Washington, July 27th and 28th. Each seminar will feature two kata, Heiku and Paiku, for two hours of intensive instruction. Our first seminar will be held at Karate West in Issaquah and will take place from 6-8pm on July 27th, the second will take place in Yakima (location TBD) from 4-6pm. These clinics are open to all students of traditional karate! Don’t miss this chance to train with a truly great sensei!
